Honorary Consulate of Czech Republic in Nizhny Novgorod

July, 19. Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Czechia in Russia Miroslav Kostelka participated in the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Czech Republic in Nizhny Novgorod.

Miroslav Kostelka pointed out that this event opens new horizons for more active and fruitful co-operation between Czechia, Nizhny Novgorod region and all the Privolzhsky Federal District:"We have the opportunity to interact in industrial-economic field as well as in culture and education in order to deepen friendship between our nations".

According to Valery Shantsev, relations between our region and Czechia are rather active, but there are more opportunities for further development. In particular, the Governor finds the trade turnover between Czechia and Nizhny Novgorod region insufficient - last year it has grown only by 38 %. "Together we must create all the necessary conditions for fruitful trade and economic co-operation" - Governor pointed out, - "and the Honorary Consulate will help us to make more close contacts for further co-operation development".
