Sweden & Nizhny Novgorod: New Potentials for Cooperation

Today, February, 22nd, the Swedish Center in Nizhny Novgorod (Semashko street, 5-Á) was hosting a meeting of local businessmen with management of four Swedish companies and representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Mariannelund. The main purpose was acquaintance with potential business partners for future co-operation.

The meeting was opened by A.N. Zaytsev, Managing Director of the Swedish Center. He addressed the audience with opening speech and introduced Mr. Kenneth Hulth, General Director of network of the Swedish Centers in Volga region.

Mr. Hulth announced that long planned business trip to cities of Volga region (Kazan - Cheboksary - Ioshkar-Ola) ends up in Nizhny Novgorod. The management of four Swedish companies - SWERIC AB (Jonkoping), KGM AB (Hultsfred), BIOPRESS AB (Ljungby), ALMI Foretagspartner AB (Vaxjo) and the Chamber of Commerce of Mariannelund - brought with them the whole package of commercial offers for wood industry, machine-tool manufacturing, production and sales of sport equipment.

The special interest gained an offer from BIOPRESS AB company (Ljungby) - leading manufacturer of equipment for production of biofuel out of wooden byproducts (sawdust, chips).

The presentation of Swedish companies was followed by business negotiations between Russian and Swedish businessmen. Russian side was represented by Administration of Nizhny Novgorod, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nizhny Novgorod Association of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists and more than thirty Directors of local companies.

Anticipated results of the event are several contracts on Swedish orders placement at the regional enterprises.
