«V.A. Kargin Polymer Chemistry and Technology Research Institute with a Pilot-Production Plant» (NII polymerov) was founded in 1949, has been playing the leading role in the development of technologies of production of polyvinyl chloride, poly(meth)acrylates and polymer materials on their basis.
Over 300 names of products for machine, aircraft building, automotive industry, electrical engineering, medicine, defense, chemical, furniture and food industries.
The main types of products:
— environmentally friendly sealants and adhesives, compositions of type «cold welding» for assembly and repair works;
— PVC-plasticates - cable, medicine, shoe plasticates;
— profile articles;
— PVC-compositions for various tare, including package for food;
— electrotechnical food, medicine PVC-tubes, antifreeze-, oil-, petrol-resistant hoses;
— PVC-plastisols for protective coatings;
— water-soluble lubricant for cold treatment of metals;
— additives for processing of PVC-compositions;
polymer materials for ophthalmology, stomatology and medicines of prolonged action;
— concentrates of dyes for polymers;
— bullet-proof polymer glass for aircraft, polymer glass for sanitary equipment, silicate triplexes, light filters;
— acid-, alkali-proof and oil-, petrol-proof, frost-resistant mittens and gloves.
At present there are carried out perspective developments of:
— new technology of production of polymer glass, of impact resistant and microsuspension PVC;
— UV-curing adhesivcs and lacquers;
— scaling compositions for repair of steam- and gas-pipe lines without their stop.
