The Federal State Unitary Enterprise NIAEP was established in 1951.
The basic fields of activities of the institute include:
science research and elaboration in the area of power engineering — design estimate documentation development, preparation of technical and commercial estimates for construction of thermal and nuclear power stations.
The FSUE NIAEP is a designer of the major power producing installations in Russia, such as Kostroma State District Power Plant with a unique power unit of 1,200 MW, Kalinin and Rostov Nuclear Power Stations with VVER-1000 energy unit, as well as Armenian Nuclear Power Plant located in the highly seismic region. The NIAEP designed projects were used for construction of a number of heating electric power stations for the Nizhny Novgorod energy supply system.
Equipped with a modern complex of computeraided project development, high quality laboratory facilities, the NIAEP provides the top reliability of operations and high technical and economic indicators of the designed plants.

FSUE NIAEP provides the following services:

— implementation of project, design development and science research activities for thermal and nuclear power producing installations;
— fulfilment of engineering survey for construction (including the areas with complicated geological and climate conditions);
— development of urban civil engineering documentation, including for construction of city dwelling areas, districts and separate housing lots.
