Company Profile

The plant was founded in 1930, when the Soviet government took the decision to set up a plant in Pavlovo-on-Oka, that would supply Gorky Automobile Plant and other carmakers with drivers’ equipment and body fittings.

It was the year of foundation of Autotransport Tools Plant (ATTP). After World War II the country needed a lot of public transport vehicles, and the plant management suggested to the government that the plant should produce small public vehicles. In 1952 the Plant was renamed Pavlovo Bus Plant (PBP), and the same year the first five PAZ-651 buses were produced.

In 1998 the plant produced the 500,000th PAZ bus, in 2001 the plant celebrated the issue of the 100,000th basic model of PAZ-3202, and the series production of PAZ-4230 «Aurora» was started in various modifications.

Since 2000 Pavlovo Bus Plant is a member of Avtobusy (Buses) group that belongs to RusPromAuto holding (Russian Buses company). The company manufactures PAZ-3237 bus, the first Russian low-floor bus, used in Moscow routes. The series production of PAZ-3203 and PAZ-3204 developed in 2004 buses has been started. These buses can be used both in cities and suburb conditions, since they meet all modern requirements. It is planned that they will substitute PAZ-32053 buses.

In 2004 the plant produced over 12,000 buses. And each year new models are added to the model line.
In particular, PAZ-City bus has been developed. It is a low-floor city bus for 25 passengers (13 seats). It meets the requirements of Euro-3 ecological standard, convenient for physically retarded people and retired persons. It is also equipped with a special guide for a wheelchair.

The new management of the plant actively introduces the principles of modern management systems, radically changes the strategic aims in the field of marketing, quality control and manufacture, which ensures sustainable success of the plant in the domestic and foreign markets.
