The institute was founded in 1953, it is a major organisation in Russia with solid experience in the area of chemistry, technology, equipment support and testing of explosive agents and compositions for the people’s economy and military equipment.
Well equipped science facilities and testing basis, universal testing complexes and stands allow the firm to carry out a complete working cycle, starting from research and syntheses of new agents to design development of production lines, development and manufacturing of non-standard explosion-proof equipment, installation of units and supervision of their operation with simultaneous solving of the problems of environment protection and technology safety of production means.
In some cases the developed production facilities as per their technical level have no analogues in the world.
The institute developed production and delivery of a wide range of syntheses substances of pharmaceuticals, included in the list of the most vital drugs, including cardio-vascular (asparcam, erinit, nitrosorbid), anti-bacterium (metronidazol, nitroksolin) and veterinary pharmaceuticals.
Kristall carries out small volume deliveries of explosives and charges, it renders services in explosion cutting of metalwork in case of accidents at the oil transit pipelines, oil storage facilities and railway, explosible pressing in of pipes in piping grids, installation of ultra-filtering units, equipment for sewage water and cleaning solutions purification in motor, metallurgy, chemical and oil-chemical, paper making, dress making and other industries.
The certification laboratory is accredited for technical competence and independence. The laboratory carries out certification of esplosible production facilities.
Ten developments of the institute in the area of special chemistry are awarded with the State Prize, eight won a prize of the Council of Ministers, four - prizes of the Lenin Komsomol.
