OKBM was established in 1947 to develop special equipment for nuclear industry. Presently OKBM is a multidisciplinary scientific & production center of Russia's nuclear machine-building, performing a whole complex of work for creation of various nuclear power plants, beginning from a birth of technical idea up to its realisation in metal.
Structurally OKBM comprises a design division, complex of research and test facilities, and production facilities. OKBM staff includes 1600 specialists and 900 workers. OKBM possesses advanced technologies and Know-How, and takes leading positions in creation of various nuclear power reactors and components for them (viz.: pumps, gas circulators, control and protection mechanisms, heat exchangers, valves, fuel handling equipment, instrumentation and controls, etc.). OKBM-operated experimental facilities allow conduction of testing and certification of pressure vessels, wide range of heat exchangers and generators of superheated steam (up to 550?C and 16 MPa), circulating pumps of up to 20000 m3/h capacity, gas blowers, various valves, fine electromechanical equipment, drives, manipulators and other mechanisms for conformance with requirements of the international quality assurance standard ISO 9000.
OKBM renders services on design, manufacture, testing, installation, adjustment and operation of equipment for chemical, oil refinery, gas production, ship-building, biomedical, agricultural, transport and other branches of industry
