Medical Centre Concern-Holding Association was created in 1995 by an endorsed “horizontal” agreement among 11 firms operating in different sectors of the medical market. The Association is a non-profit regulatory organisation with a range of executive functions entrusted by the member-firms. The member-firms are involved in the following areas:
— wholesale of pharmaceuticals for pharmacies and health care institutions of Nizhny Novgorod and the province. Representation of foreign pharmaceutical companies in the region;
— a chain of the company retail chemist’s outlets in Nizhny Novgorod and in the province;
— deliveries of soft and dressing materials to pharmacies and hospitals of Nizhny Novgorod and the province;
— wholesale of disposable and electronic medical instrumentation;
— wholesale of hygiene articles for children and adults;
— construction and repair in the medical industry;
— economic consulting.

At the moment the association is completing an economic and technical appraisal of a project for production of pharmaceuticals in cooperation with AO Antibiotic (Bulgaria). Narodnaya Apteka (People’s Remedies) project is initiated to develop in Nizhny Novgorod province a chain of unified pharmacy kiosks.
