AOOT Gormetstroy was set up following the reorganisation of the Construction Administration of the Nizhny Novgorod Metro of the Ministry of Transport Construction of the USSR. The company operates under licence issued by the licence centre of Nizhny Novgorod province and the state technical control authorities of Russia.

The Company Fulfils
— project development of industrial objects, public buildings, bridges, roads, engineer networks and systems, metro installations, tunnels and other underground installations;
— production of concrete and ferroconcrete constructions , ready-mixed concrete, special concrete and mortar;
— construction of transport underground objects and installations, underground mountain headings, hydraulic installations, metro installations by open and closed methods;
— special types of work; chemical reinforcement of ground, anchor reinforcement of pits, wall-in-ground, punching of tunnels for engineer networks, artificial ground water level lowering, etc.
12 metro stations are in operation in Nizhny Novgorod now with 14.2 km of working length.
