The first radio programme of Nizhny Novgorod province radio station went on the air in 1924. Today the station broadcasts 15 hours per week, 2.5 hours daily except Sundays and covers prospective radio-listeners in Nizhny Novgorod province and in a number adjacent districts of the nearby provinces. The programmes are transmitted through a wire network and in a FM band at 67.95 Mhz as follows: working days — 6.20-6.50; 7.10-8.00; 11.00-11.10; 18.20-19.00, on Saturdays — 8.10-9.00; 9.10-10.00; 11.10-12.00;14.20-15.00;15.10-16.00. The most popular are the information programmes: Akzent, Zemlya Privolzhskaya (Volga Land), Reklamny Radiovestnik (Advertising Radio Herald) and others. The Nizhny Novgorod radio programmes go on the air within the Radio of Russia broadcasting.
