GTRK Nizhny Novgorod broadcasts for Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod province and for a number of adjacent regions, i.e. for the area with total population of 5,1mln. TV programmes are telecast on channel 4 in a meter band, radio broadcasting is effected in FM and in a wire mode. The company employs over 200 people, among those there are top-class producers. Among the company merits: the Gold Medal awarded at Orthdoxy in TV, an All-Russia festival, Nizhny Novgorod prizes of 1993, 1994 for the best TV programmes, the Grand Prix at Russia, Rouss, Save Yourself, an All-Russia festival, the first prize at the International Festival of Ecology Programmes.
