In 1972 aimed to provide engineering and reconstruction of Gorky Automobile Plant and Vyksa Steel Works development, it was decided to create the second Gorky Installation Administration within Volgoneftekhimmontazh Trust.

The most labour-intensive project was the installation of assembly building ¹9 and Diesel engine production line at the Automobile Plant. A unique railway wheels production, output facilities for branch-off piping for gas and oil industries, pipe electric welding shops 4 and 5 at Vyksa Steel Works. Despite of the new nature of assignments, complicated installation of foreign-made equipment, GMU-2 installers were always able to find solutions to difficult technical problems, the enterprise employees took an active part in construction of Astrakhan gas chemical complex: air coolers installation, large-scale sulphur production units, huge separators.

The costs of sulphur extraction from hydrogen suilphide by the gas industry is 30% lower than when it is produced from ore. On top of it the purity level is 99.99%. The second administration was actively involved in construction of a transit gas pipeline system, Siberia — Centre. The enterprise personnel carried out there the installation of technology equipment, branch-off piping and underground conduits at compressor stations, Potchinkovskaya and Torbeyevskaya.

The installation teams took part in construction of large-scale EP-300 unit at Novo-Gorkovsky refinery, fulfilled installation of equipment, pipelines and metalwork at Gremyatchinsk opencast colliery in Kulyebaki and 11 metro stations in Nizhny Novgorod.

The enterprise personnel made a major contribution in development of industrial basis of the agriculture: cattle fodder complexes, mechanized fodder production plants, green houses, country building facilities.
