Birzha Plus, a limited liability company and information and advertising agency, is set up in 1992 by a group of journalists of Birzha, a weekly of Nizhny Novgorod businessmen. The agency collects the information for this weekly and operates with its advertising customers.

In addition, the agency publishes four weeklies of its own:
— BIRZHA PLUS — a weekly for individual advertisements with circulation of 30 000 copies, A3 format, 8 pages;
— BIRZHA PLUS AVTO — a weekly targeted on readers who have or want to have a car and those who maintain motor vehicles. Circulation — 30 000 copies, A3 format, 32 pages;
— BIRZHA PLUS SVOY DOM (Own Home)— a weekly focused on Nizhny Novgorod real estate market and targeted on those who want to have an own shelter and to make it a good place to live in. It gives publicity to those who are developing, building and finishing living accommodations, housing programmes and schemes, the best professionals, good house owners and select families. Circulation — 30 000 copies, 3A format, 32 pages;
— BIRZHA PLUS KARYERA (Career Path) — a weekly about labour and education market, about establishments which help to find a job and get an education, profession, about the people who shaped their destinies and built their businesses. Circulation — 20 000 copies, A3 copies, up to 16 pages.

All the four weeklies are popular in the city, attract their own readers and sell well. The weeklies’ columnists are competent specialists and pressmen. The readers are mostly businessmen from the so-called “middle class”. The agency employs over 120 staff members (including 30 journalists). The agency runs its own computer centre (composition, make up) equipped with modern facilities, a distribution network, transport, an office. The agency is totally independent from any political parties, it lives on what it earns. Supporting the idea of developing of a law abiding and democratic state, the agency makes its input to shape market environment by collecting, processing and publishing mainly economic information.
