The sate-owned firm was established in 1957, in 1997 it was re-organised in OOO SMU-1 “Nagorny”.
Over 40 years of its operation SMU-1 Nagorny completed and reconstructed a wide range of buildings and installations, including:
1. Building complex: GIPRODORNII - The Province diagnostic centre - the Administration of the Verkhne-Volzhskiye transit oil pipe lines - VOKVneshtorgbank. The complex is awarded with the State prize in architecture in 1997.
2. Housing area of block of flats with in-built and additional rooms located between Maksima Gorkogo and Zvezdinka streets.
3. Reconstruction of the drama theatre
4. Oktyabrskaya hotel.
5. Buildings and installations in the Kremlin.
6. Housing area located on the Volga river slope - Suyetinskya street.
7. The Kremlin concert hall.
8. The building of “Khudozhestvennye Promysly” and others.
