ZAO Nizhegorodpodvodstroy (a successor of the 12th expedition team for underwater and hydro-technologies of the Moscow Podvodretchstroy administration) is a specialised organisation involved in the underwater and hydro-technologies and ship salvage projects, which carries out construction and overhaul of underwater crossings, water supply, sewage, oil pipe lines, power and telecommunication cables, river water intakes and water outlets, wharves and hydro installations of various purpose, building slips for shipyards and ship repair facilities, bank reinforcement; rescue and emergency missions and ship salvage projects. The team, set up in 1981 by a Council Of Ministers of RSFSR decree, over this period has carried out a range of projects of the people’s economy significance. The company has completed river wharf installations located in Gorky, Kastroma, Kirov, in Uliyanovsk and Ivanovo provinces, harvest unloading points in Libyazhy and Mevedka of Kirov province, Kinishma of Ivanovo province, Murzikha and Bolgary of Tatarian republic; sewage tunnels of 1 420 mm diameter in Gorky and in Gorky province, pulp tunnels the Kama area, oil line tunnels across the Oka, gas line tunnels in Gorky, cable crossings over Kuybishev water storage, Nizhnekamsk water storage, the Volga, the Kama, the Oka, the Sura. The firm built and carried out overhauls of water intakes for the Kama and Gorky auto plants, in Pavlovo and Dzerzhinsk, in Nizhnekamsk of Tatar republic, for Novogorky ship building plant and for Yelabuga tractor plant, Kostroma hydro-power station, Gorky hydro-power station located in Balakhna, new slips for ship building and ship repair works in Gorky, Gorodez and Tchekalovsk of Nizhny Novgorod province, in Rybinsk of Yaroslavl province, screening sewage outlet facilities on the Kama, the Volga. The firm completed large-scale hydro-mecanical and bank reinforcement projects in Kirov, Ulyanovsk, Perm provinces. The firm carries our salvage tasks of passenger ships, tugboats and non-propelled vessels in the Volga water area ( from Rybinsk to Ulyanovsk), the Vyatka, the Kama, the Oka and other rivers.

To complete the above activities the team has highly qualified personnel, powerful floating and bank installed equipment, including floating cranes of 5 to 150 tonnes load lifting capacity, ship salvage pontoons of 80 to 100 tonnes load lifting capacity, suction-tube dredgers of 2 500 m3\h for ground and for bottom ground up to 25 m depth capable of operating in the close and open basins; floating and motor driven diver’s stations, transported electric power stations up to 100 kW\h capacity; barge-platforms with up to 1 000 tonnes load lifting capacity; self-dumping ground scows of 150 tonnes capacity; hydro-monitors, pumping units, bulldozers, pipe layers, equipment for underwater welding and cutting; tug fleet up to 600 h.p., motor cranes and truck cranes up to 25 000 tonnes lifting capacity etc.

The team is issued licences to carry out the above activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
