According to Nizhny Novgorod Regional statistics service site, the level of inflation in the consumer market since the beginning of this year to May was 4.8%. Inflation in May 2014 made 1%.

Prices for food products increased since the beginning of the year to May by 8.9%. In May, inflation for this category of products was 2.6%. In May, the price of fruits and vegetables also continued to grow – the price of cabbage increased by 1.4 times, of potatoes and onions – by 1.2 times. The price of apples increased by 3%, and there was an 8% increase in the price of pears.

Inflation for nonfood products made 3.1% since the beginning of the year, while for the paid services it made 1.7%.
